Jaakko Harjula receives Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to international trade training
jaskaharjula.comConsul General Jaakko Harjula has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the worldwide International Association of Trade Training Organisations, IATTO. The award is presented to individuals, who have contributed significantly to the global development of international trade training during their careers.
Harjula operated for a long time as the CEO of Fintra. He contributed actively also to the operations of an international organization within the field, influencing positively the professional development of thousands of businessmen and -women. While lecturing on and writing about internationalization readiness, Harjula's most central topics have been overall cultural knowhow and the business cultures of different countries.
For several years Harjula also acted as the chairman of IATTO. His initiative led for instance to the development of the world-wide accreditation system for international trade training programmes and certification. Harjula continues his active career in several administrative organs of different organizations and for instance as a company godfather and jazz-pianist.
IATTO, International Association of Trade Training Organisations, was established in 1973. It is an association bringing together companies offering international trade training, with participating communities from about 30 countries from the all five continents. The current chairman comes from the United States, and the association's permanent secretariat is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
