International prestige to Finnish iPhone game
Zen Bound, an acclaimed Finnish iPhone-game has attracted international interest in contests and media all over the world. The game has been praised for instance for its originality and aesthetics. Amongst many acknowledgements, the game has won the rare platinum award of mobile phone game oriented website 'Pocket Gamer'. Zen Bound received its latest reward at the Independent Games Festival in San Francisco. The event took place at the end of March. The innovative game scored highest in the categories 'The Best soundtrack' and 'The Best iPhone game'.
Zen Bound differs from other similar games in that the aim is not the highest score, or fastest performance. It is a calm and meditative game of wrapping rope in different ways around wooden sculptures.
Zen Bound was created by Helsinki-based Secret Exit, a game company established in 2006 by Jani Kahrama and Jetro Lauha. The company is not the only success story amongst Finnish mobile phone game developers. Tiki Towers by Mr. Goodliving has also had an excellent success on the market, similarly to the Finnish branch of Digital Chocolate's game studios, Sumea, which has been rewarded a long list of excellent review and sales records.
