Helsinki is the world’s sixth best city to live in

City of Helsinki Imagebank Helsinki scored more points than in 2009, when the city was the world’s seventh best city to live.
Helsinki ranked sixth on the Economist Intelligence Unit's global liveability survey, which assesses the world’s most liveable cities. Helsinki was the only Nordic country to rank among the world top liveable cities.

The survey assessed living conditions in 140 cities around the world. A rating of relative comfort for 30 indicators was assigned across five broad categories, which were stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure. Helsinki scored 96,2 percent out of the maximum 100.

Helsinki is the only Nordic country to rank among the top countries. The top scores went to Vancouver in Canada, Vienna in Austria and Melbourne in Australia. The Zimbabwean capital city Harare scored lowest among all the countries surveyed.
