Helsinki in the spotlight in Washington D.C.

The Finnish Embassy in Washington D.C. brings Helsinki to experts and the wider public in the month of May. The exhibition gives its viewers a plenty of things to touch, feel and taste, providing a holistic Helsinki-experience to admire. A series of events which will take place at the embassy bring together local and Finnish experts of different fields.

At the same time the embassy opens a new exhibition, ‘My Helsinki’. It based on the stories, impressions and experiences of the 12 ‘Invitation to Helsinki’-program participants from Washington D.C., who travelled to Helsinki earlier this spring.

The themes of the exhibition will be presented to the expert audience through subject related meetings and seminars. The themes range from education and studying to technology, business, Finnish cuisine, urban planning, travel and congress marketing.

On the weekends the exhibition opens to the wider public, providing them a sensational chance to experience Helsinki. There will be a possibility for instance for Nordic Walking and playing the traditional Finnish instrument Kantele while enjoying coffee and Finnish buns.

My Helsiniki-exhibition is a co-operational project of the City of Helsinki and the Finnish Embassy in Washington D.C. and it was accomplished by the students of the University of Art and Design in Helsinki.
