Greenvironment raises growth capital on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange
greenvironment.com Greenvironment’s microturbine power plants convert for instance farm waste into energy.– The decentralized electricity and heat market is growing rapidly in Central Europe. The listing provides us a funding channel with which we will be able to expand our business and strengthen our position in our head market area Germany, and later on also in eastern Central Europe, says CEO of Greenvironment, Matti Malkamäki.
Greenvironment’s strategy is to operate its own natural and biogas power plants in Germany, and sell the generated electricity and heat to local energy companies. The company has operated on the German market since 2006.
Greenvironment’s own innovations are the plant’s remote monitoring and control solution and the gas pre-treatment system, where biogas can be purified to suit energy and heat production. Greenvironment plants are equipped with microturbines supplied by the American Capstone Corporation. The electricity output of the plants varies between 30 kilowatt-hours and 1 megawatt-hour.
At the moment the company operates eight natural and biogas power plants in Germany, and three more plants are ready to be deployed. The growth prospects for bioenergy production are good in Germany, where the production capacity of biogas plants is intended to be increased five-fold by 2020.
Greenvironment is a Germany-based Finnish company founded in Lahti in 2002. The company’s Finnish office is located on the premises the company’s affiliate, the Lahti Science and Business Centre.
