Golf pace of play meter sparks international interest

VIHERIO The Greeni service tells how long the player’s round will take.
The Greeni pace of play meter developed by Oulu-based Viherio Technologies Oy has gained a firm foothold among UK golf clubs.  The company explains that it will be increasingly targeting international markets in the future and that the service has been positively received in South Africa, for example, where the first co-operative agreement is in the final stages of completion.

Designed for golf clubs, the web-based Greeni service monitors and analyses the player’s pace of play and speed on the fairways.  Using the service players can see how long he or she must set aside for play.  Greeni also helps the golf club in monitoring play as the situation across the whole club can be accessed from a single browser.

The Greeni service is currently being used in the British Isles by 11 clubs, 10 in Britain and one in Ireland, while in Sweden it has been adopted by five clubs.

The Greeni service was launched two years ago and it is used by almost one third of Finnish golf clubs.
