Plango, a social calendar application developed by Finnish company GoAct Oy has been launched in the US. Plango is a social calendar application developed for smartphones that people can use to plan jointly in real-time what they are doing. Among those funding the company are Esther Dyson, one of the hi-tech field’s most respected opinion leaders, Finnish angel investors and TEKES (the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation).
Plango aims to be the first choice calendar app for Facebook and iPhone users.
— In spite of the countless innovations in social media and smartphone usage that have taken place over the past ten years, calendars have somehow remained mainly as dull, static applications. We’ve tried to define the mobile calendar differently by bringing to the user’s phone a tool for dynamic planning, polling and setting up your social calendar. By integrating with Facebook, Plango provides a valuable adjunct that is currently missing from Facebook, explains CEO Petri Säkkinen from the start-up company GoAct.
Plango is available from the App Store for Finnish and North American iPhone users.
