Fortum and Capgemini sign a 94 million euro contract on smart meter management

Capgemini, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services, and Fortum Distribution AB have signed a ten-year contract worth 94 million euros. The contract assigns the management of Fortum’s existing portfolio of 860,000 smart meters in Sweden to Capgemini. Data centre hosting will be delivered from Finland.

Fortum’s managing service for Capgemini includes a range of services including regular and scheduled meter reading, field services, service desk, management reporting, data centre hosting and application management. Capgemini will also be responsible for the management of subcontractors, such as telecommunications, software providers, meter manufacturers and field service providers.
