Finnish youth let Fair Winds blow on their home towns

Korpilampi youth seminar, Nuorten Korpilampi 09, which was held last week has resulted in a positive new innovation, which aims to link youth all over Finland and provide them a say on important issues. The campaign is called ‘Fair Winds’, encouraging young people to take a positive and active attitude towards the future. A periodical headwind is also manageable if you trust yourself and direct yourself towards an occupation, which is enjoyable.
The campaign is accessible through the internet, on the streets and market places and on the radio.
The difficult economical situation shouldn’t be hidden or underestimated to the youth. It is entirely natural that young people show concern. It is also important to remember, that low tides come and go. Nothing is fixed in life. This is a very important lesson for the youth of today.
When logging onto the campaign website, you can click on the map of Finland and bring “fair wind” for your own home region or town. Visitors are also encouraged to leave their own comments on the website by writing compliments or downloading pictures, linking the website to other sites or for instance by adding video footage.
Every action affects the ranking of the different towns. A fair wind gives one point, a positive comment adds up to ten points and a photo to 25 points. A documentary video is rewarded with 100. There is also a possibility of inviting friends to come and join in the fun.
Take an action and let the fair winds blow:
