Five startup companies from Finland were introduced to leading representatives across the banking, insurance and media industries in Silicon Valley in the US. This marked the first step in the partnership for innovation between the companies and the Indian company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).

The startups participating in the initiative are Leia Media, Canatu, Rightware, Glome and AGAID. The co-operation between these companies and TCS aims to create a network of Finnish startups and the academia. In addition, the partnership promotes TCS’s innovation activities that it carries out with its clients, as it gives them access to the very latest technologies, including those developed by the startups.

According to TCS’s Country Manager, Finland, Ruchikar Dalela, the consulting company is highly interested in Finland’s strong culture for innovation. The co-operation with Finnish companies gives TCS the opportunity to leverage Finnish expertise and share it with its clients worldwide.

The launch of the initiative was facilitated by Helsinki Business Hub, whose CEO Micah Gland says that TCS has been actively engaging with Finnish startups since its participation in SLUSH in 2012.
