Finnair has been ranked the second best airline in Europe and number 12 on the world rankings by readers of the American consumer magazine Travel + Leisure. The readers of the magazine voted Singapore Airlines as the best airline in the world and the second place went to Emirates.
Singapore Airlines was praised for its innovations such as in-flight Wi-Fi, entertainment systems that allow you to play your own video and audio through your iPod, and USB ports for all passengers.
According to Travel + Leisure, Finnair showed the biggest improvement of any airline in the top 20 climbing from the last year’s position at number 28. According to magazine, Finnair “ratcheted up both its in-flight service and customer service. Cabin amenities, such as economy seats with a 32-inch pitch and lie-flat business class seats, also helped. But value and food were also radically improved.”
- We’re working very hard to become the most desired option in Asia-Europe traffic, and our unified, design-focused approach to bringing customers peace of mind is starting to bear fruit,” says Anssi Komulainen, Finnair’s Vice President, Customer Service.
Travel + Leisure magazine, based in New York City, has a circulation of about 970,000. The reader survey took place for the 16th time.
