Epuuk brings comic strips to cell phones
EpuukEpuuk offers both single comic strips and whole albums. The comic strips purchased through the service are stored in the user’s own digital bookshelf, where they will be available for reading with the Epuuk mobile application, or the internet browser of any cell phone or PC. The content does not require excessive memory space or output. A copy of the comic strip can also be saved onto one’s own cell phone, where it can be accessed without internet connection. In the future Epuuk will also work on electronic reading devices.
The capital investment company Veraventure has faith in Epuuk’s potential also overseas.
– Epuuk is an excellent example of a brand new way of distributing digital contents. It is suitable for the marking and management of both, printed publications and comic strips published solely through the digital channel. The service has just been launched in Finland, and it has already attracted half a dozen major Finnish publishers. This is a good springboard to the international markets, tells Hannu Jungman, Manager at Veraventure.
The service is currently in public test phase, and its content is mainly in Finnish. However, after Epuuk’s launch in Finland the company’s goal is expand the service also to other countries.
