Ekovilla launches new energy saving thermal insulation board
Ekovilla Oy Ekovilla Oy trusts that the new thermal insulation board has excellent export potentialAccording to the company the thermal insulation board is a good example of the kind of innovative potential that mechanic forest industry has. The board is a natural thermal insulation made of renewable wood raw material, which reduces buildings’ energy consumption and balances indoor air humidity alterations. The manufacturing process of the insulation board harnesses only a little energy. The board binds the carbon contained in the timber for its entire lifespan, and while functioning, saves energy.
– We need to take an action towards improving the energy efficiency of building, for which Ekovilla has developed a well suited product. There is also another factor with our thermal insulation: it is made of renewable raw material. The product is exactly what the world is asking for at the moment, says the Minister of Economic Affairs Mauri Pekkarinen at the inauguration on Ekovilla Oy’s new Kuusankoski factory.
The new factory, which has been built in UPM’s old premises will have an annual manufacturing capacity of 500 000 cubic metres of Ekovilla thermal insulation board. The production line has been built by the Austrian machinery specialist DOA.
Manufacturer of wood fibre based thermal insulation, Ekovilla Oy is a 31-year-old enterprise with factories in Kiiminki and Ylistaro, in addition to the new Kuusankoski facility.
