Dewaco purifies Shenzen’s sewage water

Dewaco Ltd, an innovative Finnish company specialized in designing and manufacturing equipment and solutions for sludge treatment in industries and municipalities, will supply 36 chain and flight type sludge and scum collector chains to the water purification plant of the Chinese city of Shenzen.

The water purification plant will treat approximately 300 000 cubic metres of sewage water every day. The new system will optimize the metropolis’ water purification while reducing the environmental load of waste water. Dewaco has already completed over 80 deliveries in China. The delivery to Shenzhen is one of the company’s biggest single deliveries of chain and flight type sludge and scum collector chains.

In addition to the chain and flight sludge and scum collectors, the delivery includes primary and secondary settling tanks. The chain and flight type sludge and scum collectors are used in 60 metre long rectangular clarifiers, which process sludge to the next stage of the purifying process. The systems will be taken into use next spring.

The CEO of Dewaco, Hannu Turunen says that Asia is one of the company’s most important markets.

- China invests strongly in water purification in order to improve the standard of living and the state of the country’s environment, says Turunen in Tekniikka ja Talous (Technology and Economy) -magazine.

Dewaco’s head office and production facilities are located in city of Laitila, on the southwest coast of Finland. The company, which fused with Cavia Oy last year, aims at boosting also the industrial digestion of sludge.
