Dewaco delivers wastewater treatment technology to Poland

The innovation of Finnish Dewaco increases biogas and reduces residual sludge of the Polish waste water treatment plant. Chorzow purification plant handles the waste water of over 200 000 inhabitants. The produced biogas is used for heating the plant.
Through the modernization of Chorzow purification plant Dewaco’s equipments increase the plant’s biogas production by nearly 40 percent. The amount of solid residual sludge will be reduced by 25 percent. The ultrasound cavitation reactor helps to transform the sludge into more biogas to meet the needs of the waste water treatment plant and for selling, if necessary.
– The cavitation equipment productized by us has wide market potential in Europe as well as in many Asian countries. The contract to Poland is an important European market opening for us. Our first Asian unit will be installed later in the year, tells Dewaco CEO Hannu Turunen.
Dewaco merged in 2008 with Cavia Oy. Through the merger the company’s service portfolio was complemented by technology enabling the intensification of sludge digestion. VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland has analyzed the gas production achieved by Cavia equipment, and identified the changes in sludge quantities in real conditions.
