Crowne Plaza Helsinki chosen as Finland's Leading Hotel
Crowne Plaza Helsinki Crowne Plaza Helsinki, formerly known as Hotel Hesperia.Crowne Plaza Helsinki has been chosen as Finland's best hotel at this year's World Travel Awards -event in Portugal. The event which is held annually has been described as the "Oscar gala" of the World Tourism and Travel Industry. Crowne Plaza Helsinki has been given the honorary title "Finland's Leading Hotel" on two subsequent years. The pride of today's travel industry were selected by 167 000 travel specialists from 160 countries.
- We are delighted to receive the award for the second time especially because during such challenging times as now we have still managed to continue polishing up our customer service. Receiving such an internationally appreciated acknowledgement certainly motivates our entire personnel, says Saija Savela-Palovaara, the General Manager of Crowne Plaza Helsinki.
Crowne Plaza, the flagship of the Finnish Restel Hotel Group, has gained international recognition also previously. InterContinental Hotels Group has alredy granted Crowne Plaza Helsinki the 'Newcomer of the Year' -title and the 'Torchbearer Award'.
World Travel Awards is the most renowned and distinguished acknowledgement, which covers regionally the different sectors of global travel. World Travel Awards was established in 1993 in order to acknowledge and celebrate those merited in the fields of travel and tourism.
In order to gain the leading hotel -title Crowne Plaza Helsinki competed with such high class hotels as Hotel Kämp, Hilton Helsinki, Klaus K and Scandic Simonkenttä.
