Crown of Byzantus is the first Finnish massive multiplayer browser game

www.byzantus.com Crown of Byzantus introduces the player to the exciting land of Byzantium at crossroads between Europe and the Orient.
Crown of Byzantus, the first Finnish massive multiplayer browser game developed and operated by Casual Continent Ltd, a game studio located in Helsinki, can be played by thousands of players simultaneously. The game was launched on February 22nd.

The game which is published in Finnish and English is targeted for international markets, since Crown of Byzantus can be loaded on the internet browser and thousands of players can venture simultaneously in the same world. In addition to Finnish players, the most dedicated users of the game’s Beta-version have been Americans, Dutch and Chinese.

– Beta was a huge success and for the official version we will be able to include even more empires, double as many tasks, new communal features and so on. The game lives and grows with its players, so new content will be created even after its launch, confirms the leading designer of Crown of Byzantus, Ville Vuorela on Digibusiness.fi-website.

–The game has raised a lot of international interest. Especially American blogs have discovered the game. That is a very pleasant surprise, because browser based massive multiplayer markets are in rapid growth over there. One Californian company has shown interest even in launching the game in Korea, says CEO of Casual Continent, Pyry Lehdonvirta.

Casual Continent is already working on its next game, which is expected to be ready for launching in autumn 2010.
