City of Hamina welcomes Russian pharmaceutics
The southern Finnish harbour town of Hamina will soon have a Russian pharmaceutical factory. Information of the project was published on Monday, when the board of Hamina municipality gathered to discuss the sale of the requested building plot. The news was reported in the regional newspaper Kymen Sanomat.
The city has agreed to sell a 7,3 hectare plot from Mäkelänkangas industrial area to the factory initiative. The cost of the plot is 368 950 Euros. The buyer is a shareholder of the pharmaceutical company.
Deputy Manager of the City of Hamina, Kari Halonen told Kymen Sanomat that the factory is being built by a company, which owns also two other pharmaceutical factories elsewhere in Europe. The name of the Russian company remains unpublished.
The first phase of the operation will include the construction of a 4000-5000 square meter factory building which will employ approximately 40 people.
