Cinemas started the year with excellent visitor numbers
Finnkino- Perhaps the current economic situation affects the consumer behaviour in a way, which discourages people from making major purchases but invite people to spend money on smaller, everyday pleasures. Going to the cinema is a relatively affordable way to run away from the reality and remain with a great feeling even for a long time afterwards, reasons Reijo Jämes, the Head of Marketing at Finnkino, in Kampanja-magazine.
Bio Rex has five cinemas in Finland while Finnkino has 16 cinemas in eleven localities in Finland.
Increased popularity of cinema is a well-known phenomenon in the history. In the United States cinema became more popular at the end of the Great Depression in the 1930s. During that time cinema’s popularity reached its peak - up to 65 per cent of the country’s population went to the cinema once a week. The same phenomenon was repeated during the Second World War.
