They will be delivered to eight stations along the S1 line, a 20 kilometre low-noise line located in the less developed western parts of Beijing. The maglev line is expected to open for operation in 2013.

Earlier this month, Kone announced that it had won an order to supply 70 eco-efficient elevators to two high-rise office buildings of the Yu Jia Pu Financial District in Tianjin Binhai New Area, China.
The Tianjin Binhai New Area is a major economic development zone in northern China which transforms an industrial port into a modern city with commercial zones, residential areas and parks. The 28 and 39 storey buildings are set to be completed in 2013.
Kone also revealed it has been awarded an order by the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center to install elevators for a new hospital facility.
As part of this project, Kone is installing 22 elevators, including machine room-less and overhead traction elevators. Kone’s work on the hospital will begin this August and the facility is scheduled to open in 2015.
