Finnish golf technology qualifies for European Tour

The European Tour has begun co-operation with golf technology specialists Viherio Technologies, based in Oulu, Finland. Viherio’s products will first be utilised during the tour at the BMW Championship tournament, to be played in England between 24 and 27 May.

Viherio will supply the tournament with its GREENi spectator service. The service will be visible on a giant screen for the course of the event and additionally at 100 separate service points throughout the tournament area. The service will furthermore be integrated into the European Tour mobile application.

— In addition to the spectator service, we will be providing the BMW Championship with applications which will facilitate judging and the measuring of the pace of play, says Mika Berg, CEO of Viherio Technologies.

The European Tour is one of two major men’s professional golf tours in the world. The other is the PGA Tour, organised in the United States.
