Cargotec opens a multi-assembly unit in Poland

Cargotec Baltic Sea protection, sustainable development and proximity to markets have been the most important factors in the design of Cargotec’s new multi-assembly unit in Poland.

Cargotec will open a new multi-assembly unit in Stargard Szczecinski in Poland. The new facility, located close to customers and the growing European market, will support the production of a wide range of Cargotec cargo and load handling solutions.

The new multi-assembly facility is situated in northwest Poland approximately 60 kilometres from the Baltic Sea coast, in an area of 41 hectares.

– The central location of the facility helps us to reduce transportation costs and makes our operations more flexible. We can now respond even more efficiently to the rising customer demand in Central Europe, says Axel Leijonhufvud, EVP, Cargotec Supply.

Cargotec has carried out the whole construction project considering also the protection of the Baltic Sea.

– This new state-of-the-art facility has sustainable production technology, with cutting-edge processes and quality. For example, we have chosen a carbon dioxide neutral wood pellet heating solution for the production facility, says Cargotec President and CEO Mikael Mäkinen.

Cargotec has operations in more than 120 countries and production in 18 countries worldwide.
