Campfire 2 Go receives second design award
SCANSTAR / SCA PACKAGING FINLANDCampfire 2 Go, a ready made campfire produced by SCA Packaging Finland and Valmisnuotio Oy, has been awarded this year's international WorldStar -design award. Earlier this autumn Valmisnuotio Oy won an award also in ScanStar 2009 -design competition.
Campfire 2 Go is a ready-to-ignite campfire parcel, which is packed inside a corrugated cardboard box. It will ignite in any weather. The wood inside the parcel is air-dried Finnish birch. The accompanying fire lighter guarantees successful ignition.
The burning time of the camp-fire is about an hour, after which only ashes remain. Campfire 2 Go weighs about 5 kilograms, so it is easy to carry with when hiking.
The thought of a ready made camp-fire was born from an idea of productizing Finnish wood and at the same time utilizing cardboard as packaging material.
SCA Packaging Finland has been awarded in ScanStar and WorldStar competitions over three subsequent years. The packaging of Campfire 2 Go was designed at Tampere Design Centre in cooperation with Valmisnuotio Oy and SCA.
SCA Packaging Finland Oy is a company specialized in packaging and logistics solutions, which has production centres in Tampere and Nummela. The company employs about 240 people in Finland.
