Raute receives EUR 14 million order from Germany

Raute Corporation has received an order for equipment worth EUR 14 million from German company Pollmeier Furnierwerkstoffe. The equipment will be manufactured at Raute’s units in Nastola, Kajaani and Shanghai.

Raute will supply Pollmeier’s LVL mill, to be constructed in Creuzburg in Central Germany, with a peeling and drying line, as well as an LVL lay-up line. LVL is short for Laminated Veneer Lumber. The equipment delivery will take place in spring 2013.

Pollmeier is Europe’s largest producer of poplar sawn timber. With this latest investment, the company will expand its offering to include veneer-based products. It is estimated that the popularity of wood as a construction material and in furniture is set to increase, thus boosting the demand for wood.

Technology company Raute’s customers are companies operating in the wood products industry. Raute’s head office is located in Nastola, Finland. Its other production units are located in Canada, China and Kajaani, Finland. In 2011 the company employed 464 people.
