Bakery expert Leipurin Ltd. expands to Ukraine
Leipurin Ltd, part of Aspo Group, has expanded its operations to Ukraine. The new operation unit is established in Kiev. Leipurin has also recently opened new offices also in Novosibirsk and Kazan in Russia.
Leipurin Ltd.supplies its bakery clients and other food industry ingredients, machinery and equipment as well as specific bakery services-related knowhow. The company is aiming towards providing an ever wider range of services in Russia and Ukraine.
- Our objective is to achieve a significant position as a supplier in the bakery industry and as an important partner for the local food industry, says Aki Ojanen, CEO of Aspo Plc.
- In Ukraine, too, we act as a partner for major bakery clients in both production and product development. We not only provide them with ingredients, machinery and equipment but we also, according to our overall concept, develop the tastes and structures of customer products. We also aid in enhancing competence related to production and product development. The ingredient manufacturing industry, which we already represent in the existing market areas, will receive a new growing market through us in Ukraine, asserts Matti Väänänen, CEO of Leipurin ltd.
In St. Petersburg, the test bakery of Leipurin is located within the University of St. Petersburg and has a function as a center for product development and training. Another test bakery in Russia is being planned for Novosibirsk in Siberia. A brand new test bakery has been opened recently in Warsaw, Poland
- We are also planning to launch a new test bakery in Kiev. We are currently reviewing the possibilities for opening a test bakery in connection with the National Agricultural University of Ukraine, comments Mr. Väänänen.
Leipurin Ltd, belonging to Aspo Group, was founded in January 1, 2009, from the food sector of Kauko-Telko Ltd. Leipurin serves the bakery and food industry by supplying ingredients, production machinery and production lines, as well as bakery related expertise. The company operates in the Baltic Sea Region and CIS countries. The company’s turnover in May-December 2008 totaled 69 million Euros.
