Andritz delivers a High Energy Recovery Boiler and an evaporation plant to Chile

International technology Group Andritz will supply and install a High Energy Recovery Boiler, HERB and an evaporation plant for CMPC's pulp mill in Laja, Chile.

The delivery includes also the complete instrumentation, control system and electrification for the processes delivered. The total value of the contract is approximately 100 million Euros. The plants are intended to be opened in early 2012.

The new energy efficient High Energy Recovery Boiler supplied by Andritz has a processing capacity of 2,500 tons of dry matter per day. The boiler will help CMPC's Laja pulp mill to maximize its production of green electricity and steam.

This order is part of an energy efficiency investment by CMPC to make the Laja pulp mill self-sufficient in green energy and allowing for a long-term pulp production of 460,000 tons per year. This investment will also lower the pulp mill's air and effluent emissions.

Andritz Oy is one of the world's leading suppliers for customized plants, process technologies and services for the hydropower, pulp and paper, metals, and other industries. Its expertise lies in processing of logs and annual fibers, production of chemical and mechanical pulp and the recovery and mass handling of chemicals.

The company operates in several Finnish cities and municipalities. The Andritz Group operates under the Austrian Andritz AG, which is headquartered in Graz.
