4DSwing golf innovation shoots overseas

4DSwing Picture: The first 4DSwing analyzer in the world is located at Season Golf in Espoo, Finland.
Finnish 4DSwing has launched the world’s first golf swing analyzer, providing golf players and coaches comprehensive and very detailed data about everything that happens during a golf swing without attaching wires, sensors or vests to players’ body or club. The new technology enables an even more accurate golf swing measuring and perception tool.

The technical innovation of the equipment is based on the application of machine vision algorithms in measuring the golfer’s performance. The technology, which has been used for instance in the logistics industry has never been utilised in golf or any other sport. A new feature is also 4DSwing web service, which enables the examination and analysis of the numerical measurements, and online access to learning-related services.
 
4DSwing equipment comprises of camera, measuring and analysis systems, which provide real time measurements and analysis of the swing. The data produced by hi-speed video cameras uses 4D model machine vision algorithms for building an accurate a picture of the details associated with the golf swing.

4DSwing aims at becoming the world’s leading provider of golf learning tools and services by 2013. According to the Chief Executive Officer at 4DSwing, Vesa Perälä, the company intends to expand it operations beyond Finland and Sweden also to a few other European countries already this year. The world’s leading golf market, the United States, will be conquered in 2011.
 
4DSwing has signed a partnership agreement with the Finnish Professional Golfers Association.
