The Finnish–German co-operation programme is expected to open new doors to global markets for SMEs. The Finnish–German co-operation programme is expected to open new doors to global markets for SMEs.

Tekes is helping Finnish SMEs to find German partners for development projects.

Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology’s Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM) and Tekes have together announced a call for proposals, with the goal of sparking market-based innovation projects between SMEs.

— For Finnish companies, the opportunity to partner up with globally operating German companies opens up an exciting path to international markets, says Tekes’s Director General, Pekka Soini.

The ideas for the project stem from the needs of companies and can cover just about any topic. The projects will involve developing competitive products, services and processes.

The consortium has to include at least one Finnish and one German SME which contribute considerably to the project. Companies and/or research organisations from other countries may also participate.

According to Tekes, the ZIM programme is the most important form of innovation funding for SMEs in Germany and it has received very good feedback.
