Metso delivers board production equipment to Brazil

Metso will deliver a front-end system for fiber board production to Berneck in Curitibanos, Santa Catarina state in Brazil. The order value is nearly 10 million euro.

Metso's delivery will include all the main machinery for a front-end system, comprising a drum infeed, debarking drum, disc chipper, rotary screw reclaimer chip silo, chip screen, defibrator system, related motors, control system as well as supervision of installation and system start-up.

The Berneck board production plant is designed for medium density fiber board, MDF, with a thickness range of 3 - 40 millimetres. The raw material will be mainly pine. The production plant's defibrator capacity is about 40 tonnes per hour. The delivery will be Metso's second front-end line delivery to Berneck.

Berneck is one of Brazil's leading panel producers, with an annual production capacity of more than 1,200,000 cubic meters of particle boards, MDF, pine lumber and teak products. Berneck has more than 1,400 employees and it owns more than 62,000 hectares of land for pine and teak plantations.
