Freetime Machos spread their charm at Tribeca Film Festival

Directed by Mika Ronkainen, the film tells the story of a hapless rugby team from the Northern Finnish town of Oulu coached by British Roger, an employee of Nokia. Freetime Machos is a portrait of stout Finnish male culture brought to the audience in a sympathetic manner, when the hardened men talk about their relationships in addition to drinking and rugby. The film was premiered in Finland on March 13th and its American grand entrée is New York in April.
Tribeca Film Festival, now held for the eight time, has become one of the most significant film festivals in the whole world. It was founded to consolidate business in the city after the 2001 World Trade Center terrorist attacks. One of the event’s founders is actor Robert De Niro.
