Finnish designer receives world’s largest design-award

The Finnish Designer Harri Koskinen has received a significant design award in Gothenburg, Sweden. The award, which was presented by the Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Foundation, is worth 93.000 Euros, making it the world's largest design award. Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Prize has previously been presented to three other Finnish designers, Brita Flander, Kaj Kalin and Janna Syväoja.
Harri Koskinen's production was acknowledged for being consistent and original. Koskinen was also praised for cooperating fluently with the business world, continuing the Nordic design tradition and reforming the design-industry.
One of the most famous works of 39-year-old Koskinen is the Block-light, which is on show in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The award ceremony was also an opening to Koskinen's new exhibition in Gothenburg's Rohss Museum of Applied art and Design.
