The Paris Chamber of Commerce selected La Petite Maison de Couture, the shop owned by Finnish designer Anna Ruohonen, as the best clothing and accessory store in Paris.

This was the second year that the Paris Shop & Design competition was organised by the Paris Chamber of Commerce. The previous winner of the clothing and accessories category was the Paris boutique of the fashion house Hermès.

The six-story building that combines the store and studio was designed by Ruohonen’s husband, architect Pekka Littow. Each floor is just 23 square metres in size.

The competition focuses on aesthetic taste, innovative and practical solutions for the use of the space, the usability of the design and the accessibility of the shop.

Anna Ruohonen is a Finnish fashion designer on a mission to design clothing that stands the test of time. Ruohonen is also concerned about the clothing’s ecological footprint and her goal is to manufacture clothing only to order.
