Amer Sports boosts US presence with leading brand

Finnish Amer Sports has taken another step forward in its acceleration strategy in the USA, after acquiring EvoShield.

The North American company is the leading brand of protective gear for baseball and softball athletes and teams in the US, and the Official Protective Gear of Major League Baseball. The aquisition includes the EvoShield brand, all EvoShield-branded products and intellectual property and distribution rights.

The annual net sales of EvoShield are approximately 10 million euros.

EvoShield will be integrated into Amer Sports Ball Sports business segment, which already boasts leading baseball and softball brands Wilson, Louisville Slugger, DeMarini and ATEC.

Earlier this year, Amer Sports acquired US-based road and mountain bike specialists Enve. Last year it announced the acquisition of Queenax and the iconic baseball brand Louisville Sluggers.
