The translation will be published later in 2017. The rights for the novel’s Swedish and Czech versions have been also been sold.

Kun aika loppuu (literal translation When Time Ends) is a story about parenthood, searching for one’s own place and the effects climate change and lack of clean water have on humanity in the future.

“It’s great that an English-language publisher wants to publish Elina Hirvonen’s most topical and globally important novel,” notes Hanna Kjellberg, head of Bonnier Rights Finland.

Hirvonen, who’s an author, journalist and documentary film director, has written two novels prior to the award-winning Kun aika loppuu, which was published in Finland in 2015.
